YIMBY Winnipeg’s key recommendations for the Infill Strategy

1) Abolish Parking Minimums in Mature Communities

2) Eliminate single-family only zoning in Mature Communities: Get rid of R1 zoning in mature communities, zone to increased density (i.e. zoning up to R2 – Two Family or RMF – Residential Multifamily).

3) More resources and access to public information on infill: The City should dedicated staff and funds to providing the public information on infill, including the benefits of infill, as is done in Edmonton.

4) No to phantom garages: The City should not include a provision for unbuilt or phantom garages in lot coverage calculations.
